PoojaKendra.com (“PoojaKendra”, “We”, Us”) is a one stop shop where we offer all the pooja samagri (items/ articles) or custom made pooja packages to our visitors at the click of a button. We also offer information regarding the history and significance of the age old traditions followed in our Culture.
Poojakendra provide easy access to all pooja items people might need through our e-store. This is especially convenient for the elderly and working class. Since it is a tedious task for them to explore the markets, either due to lack of time or strength, in order to to search for the items they require.
We also have a blog aimed at today’s youth, giving them some much required insight into the history and significance of the traditions followed in our culture. It can help them understand the values and believes of their elderly, thus, enabling everyone to reach a mutual understanding as far as their religious believes are concerned.

We have created this website in order to solve 2 different issues that we ourselves encountered in the past and as we were trying to solve these issues, we thought that there might be other people facing the same problems as us. Which are :-
- Whenever we asked anything pertaining to the traditions, we never got any satisfying answers from our parents and very soon we realized that we are not going to get any answers and we have to put in some work in order to find what we are looking for. Later, we thought that it would be a good idea to share our findings, as it might prove helpful for some people who are curious and wants to know more about the origin of our culture and traditions. So, we decided to write about our findings and share them with everyone and thus we build a blog.
- While living in metro cities, it was always difficult to find items that are required to perform a pooja/ritual the way it is described in scriptures. Even though all the items are available, the ease of access was actually a big issue. The products are sold in big whole sale markets which are difficult to navigate, as it is time consuming and the products are sold in bulk which makes it impractical for personal use. So, we build our e-store in order to solve both of these issues as all products are available at the click of a button, in carefully measured quantities which makes the quantity sufficient while also minimizing wastage.
Our Blog
Traditions are an integral part of us and functions as the backbone of our culture and society. They provide structure and foundation to our believes and contributes towards the feeling of comfort and belonging. Traditions bring us together and strengthen the bonds with our families and friends.
However, in today’s day and age the traditions and culture has began to lost its meaning as the youth of today has started to brush them off as mere superstitions without ever considering the fact there could be a valid reason behind these believes and practices.
This happened mostly due to the society’s obsession of creating obedient individuals, thus asking questions were discouraged by the very people who were responsible for answering them, as a result the answers to those important questions regarding the history and significance of the traditions got lost in this obsession.
But in the modern age of science, when everyone is encouraged to ask questions, the people who are looked upon for answers, don’t really know how to curb this curiosity due to which perfectly valid and reasonable traditions are considered useless and unnecessary and are looked down upon by the youth of today.
That is where our blog comes in, we are doing our best to gather and organize all the information we can find through various resources and compiling it in the form of a series of articles which might help in providing answers to some questions about the history of our culture. Our E-Store
Unfortunately, the knowledge regarding the origin and significance of various traditions and rituals is a bit hard to find, however, the knowledge regarding the procedure and the items required is well documented by the priests and other religious leaders. Since this kowledge is readily available, most people prefer to proceed with the rituals as they are documented in the scriptures.
This preference often lead to another issue, which is accessibility of the required items. Commonly used items are easily accessible everywhere but there are certain items that are not required as often and hence are not available as readily. Also the quantity needed of such items are quite small even if they are required and due to this lack of demand such items are only available at select few places.
This limited availability of products forces people to explore big markets in search of the products which is very inconvenient and time consuming for the working class and tedious and exhausting for the elderly, both of which are the primary buyers of such products.
The products in these dedicated whole sale markets are also sold in bulk which makes it rather cost ineffective and impractical to be purchased for personal use.
As we did our research regarding the viability of the idea we came across the issue of inflated price of products wither due to monoploy in the online space or extremely high commission rates charged by big eCommerce platforms for providing services to the sellers, which in-turn raise the prices to extremely high levels, turning a basic service into an in-affordable luxury.
In order to deal with these issues, we have build our e-store which is a one stop shop for all the items you will ever need and in just a few clicks you can get them delivered to your doorsteps at a very reasonable price. Our Team
Our team primarily consists of 2 siblings, Akanksha and Rohit Agarwal, who like many other were curious and had questions regarding the traditions followed in the Hindu Culture, which were mostly left unanswered. So, they took it upon themselves to find those answers and share their findings with the world and hence PoojaKendra.com was born.
About Akanksha
My name is Akanksha Agarwal and I am more of a traditional type, always engaging in the festivities and rituals of our culture, however, during my stay in Jaipur for my studies, I encountered the difficulty in access of the pooja articles, however I couldn’t figure our any solution to this issue at that time.
But since then, I got married and had a toddler running around which practically makes it impossible for me to get back to a full time job, I think I now have an answer to the problem I faced back then. Since my schedule doesn’t allow me to commit 10 hours a day towards a full time job, the only reasonable choice I have is to join the family business and work as per my schedule allows.
We have a store of pooja items in my hometown that has been operated by my family for past 50 years. So, it was really a no-brain er for me to make the decision of joining the family business. However, the town is small and there was no sense in expanding the operation there as it would only have added to the operating costs.
Therefore, the only logical way to expand the operation is through internet and take the business online and with over 50 years worth of experience running the business coupled with my background in Business Management it seemed feasible.
Now, the only issue is to put the business online and that is where my brother, Rohit comes into the picture.
About Rohit
I am Rohit Agarwal and since I have an engineering degree in Computer Science and about a decade worth of experience working as a software developer, I was the ideal candidate for my sister to reach out. We had a discussion and the idea sounded promising to me.
Since I am also curious about the logic and reasons behind the traditions of our culture I suggested our findings through a blog.
As I did my research, the idea started to sound even better as there is a huge market gap which could be filled through an e-commerce platform and there is another issue I found that also needed to be addressed i.e. overpricing.
The individual platforms (like our own) are inflating their prices due to the lack of competition and as for the other major e-commerce platforms that allow vendors to sell their products charge high commission rates and that coupled with the taxes, inflates the prices to twice the reasonable amount, which makes it a not so good deal to the end user.
So, with the combined skills of mine and my sister and along with the 50 years worth of market experience of our family members, it definitely seems possible to build up on this idea and help the people by providing not only with affordable products, but also with valuable knowledge that would help them to reconnect with out rich cultural heritage.
